A British-trained architect with a degree in urban planning from Harvard, Peter Barratt came to Freeport in 1964 as a member of Harland Bartholemew & Associates, a renowned firm of city planners, hired to prepare a master plan of the Lucaya area. Barrett eventually was hired by the Grand Bahama Port Authority where he served in the capacity of as chief architect and town planner for twelve years.
